National Treasure: Book of SecretsThe second national treasure movie finds the Ben trying to discover the truth behind the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.

Nearly as entertaining as the first, this time Ben and his friends travel to lots of places linking the clues.

Lots of action, adventure and car chases. Again ignore the historical facts and watch it for what it is, just an entertaining escape from reality.

The Adventures of Tintin

(13 votes, average: 7.31 out of 10)

A reporter sets off on a wild treasure hunt adventure.

A fantastic animated film and a great new adventure in the Tintin series. Set in the 1930’s.

No need to have seen the older Tintin TV shows or comics.

Plenty of adventure, action, and suspense. See it in 3D if you can.

Suitable for both kids and adults.

Cutthroat Island

(11 votes, average: 7.36 out of 10)

Cutthroat IslandA relatively simple pirate adventure story. The daughter of a pirate captain takes over the leadership of her crew and searches for some hidden treasure.

Although it is an unrealistic and fanciful depiction of pirates and their era in the Caribbean (or maybe because of that), it is still an enjoyable movie.

Plenty of action and entertainment, yet nothing offensive.

Indiana Jones 1, 2, 3

(25 votes, average: 9.56 out of 10)

Indiana JonesProbably the ultimate in treasure hunting adventure movies. They mix a bit of archaeology (not realistic I’m sure), with a great adventure story. Lots of action, humour, chases, and great stunts.

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost ark involves the search for the Ark of the Covenant.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is the search for some missing magical Indian stones.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is about the search for the cup of Christ.
